Ten Yad goes all out to insure that its annual Ten Yad Chinese Auction is the most prestigious auction in its class. It’s not that we need to be the best, it’s just that it’s the only way we know to honor one of Hashem’s most precious mitzvos.

So just as we want every one of our kallahs to feel like a queen on her wedding day, we want our contributors to share in that same feeling of grandness. For example, what other auction offers a grand prize of $36,000? Or where else can you design your own prize with lavish, $12,000 gift certificates in jewelry and furniture, $7,000 to spend any way you like on exquisite silver, your choice of any of the finest bone china patterns, and the very latest styles and models of virtually every prize in the catalogue?

When you win a luxurious set of linens, you don’t have to adapt your bedroom to fit our taste, you can pick exactly what you want and need to suit yours. When it comes to technology like computers and car navigators, you can choose the most up-to-date model available, even if it just came on the market that day!

But really, we pride ourselves the most on being a “no restrictions” auction. When a winner walks into a store with a gift certificate, there are no restrictions on which items she can choose. None of this “last year’s merchandise” or “clearance items” only business. We roll out the red carpet for our winners and let them choose the best of the best.

Our winners are perhaps most enamored with our no restrictions policy on flights and hotels for our fabulous holiday prizes (see letter on facing page). Although we ask winners to take their trips within the year, there are no restrictions on flights: no blackouts, no high-season limitations, and no stand-bys. All you have to do is go fly and enjoy.

Although you don’t have to be physically present at the auction to win a prize, we look forward to meeting you personally so we can all celebrate the tremendous feeling of achdus that comes from sharing in such a holy mitzvah together.
